The death of a missing Machesney Park man is being investigated as a homicide.
According to the Winnebago County Coroner's Office, 27-year-old Moheb Diab was found in a Loves Park house in the 7700 block of Eastmont Avenue. He was pronounced dead on the scene after 5 a.m. Wednesday.
According to an autopsy, Diab died due to gunshot wounds. Toxicology tests will be available in about two weeks.
The Winnebago County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death. A suspect, 25-year-old James Doyle of Loves Park, is in custody. Doyle has been charged with six counts of first degree murder and one count of concealing a homicide.
Diab had been reported as a missing person to the Winnebago County Sheriff's Department on Monday, April 13th. He had been last seen on April 12 leaving his home in Machesney Park. The Winnebago County Sheriff's Department says Diab's car was located on April 17 in a business parking lot in the 5300 block of Forest Hills Court which prompted an investigation into Doyle.
